James R. Simpson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Florida State University and Florida A&M University.   His research interests include design and analysis of experiments, simulation, response surface methods, applied optimization, regression analysis, and quality control.   He has been active working with various industrial and government partners including NASA, Department of Defense, Boeing, Ford, Florida Department of Transportation, Lockheed Martin, and Bristol-Myers Squibb.   He is an Associate Editor for Quality Engineering and Quality and Reliability Engineering International .   He earned a B.S. in Operations Research from the United States Air Force Academy, an M.S. in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University.   He is a member of ASA, ASQ, and IIE.
